PERSONALITY
Suppose it would be more beneficial to point out the positive traits so as not to be completely disillusioned by him. Takeo is many things bit naïve is not one of them. Having lived long after the passing of his original master, a Japanese scholar with the habit of reading to his feline companion, Takeo is surprisingly well-learned for an entity that shouldn’t even be able to read. Thanks to that exposure he is widely intelligent and has endeavored to normalize his existence by furthering his literacy. Therein speaks of his determination and willingness to learn as well as a testament to his ability to adapt to new situations.
His interests span a wide range of hobbies and pursuits – many of the more immoral spectrums. He’s broadminded, never excluding something from the list of things he likes or dislikes or is indifferent toward. It’s in his best interest to be more extroverted when he there is a possibility to gain something from doing so. When he chooses to be, Takeo can be generous, amiable and boisterous to the point of being obnoxious but is mannerly enough for most to overlook it.
All else aside, the root of his personality is deeply snared in mischief. Takeo finds it impossibly entertaining to watch the humans scurry about, be it in fear or any other reason they might be tripping over themselves. He can be a very vindictive spirit, malicious and not above violence if necessary but primarily he chooses to flee from opposition and escape with all things intact. Momentary bursts of courage just aren’t his thing and he’d prefer to be a coward and live, than be a martyr and die.
Taking that into consideration he is widely capricious, sticking to nothing for too long and growing bored rather easily. He tends to overindulge in the things he likes until he virtually can’t stand it anymore and haphazardly tosses the attractions aside.
EXTRAS
Bakeneko - His original form is possibly the least intimidating creature one might imagine for a servant of chaos and disharmony, although there is a sizeable amount of folklore surrounding the appearance of a black cat on your path. Takeo, as detailed in legends, casts an unassuming shadow in the form of what is passably an everyday feline. He is sleek, skinny and sporting a coat of glossy black fur. There is no excess or fluff to his frame. The most disconcerting features would be his eyes, glistening red and ever watchful of those around him. But what sets him apart from your average domestic cat is the foot and a half long tail trailing after him. In terms of other worldly powers, a Bakeneko gains its abilities by aging beyond one hundred years. They then acquire a talent for walking upright on their hind paws, speaking in the human tongue, leaping over the deceased and making zombies, creating ghostly fire balls to ward off heir enemies, bringing bad luck and shapeshifting. There is also the lesser known fact that coincide with his eating habits. While not true for all Bakeneko, Takeo has sampled human flesh and has come to enjoy it.
