There was just something intrinsically wonderful about being barely two feet tall and still commanding a presence in this jungle of concrete. No matter where he traveled heads would turn in his direction as he prowled by. Sometimes it was a simple glance, others lingered in silent inquisition to his activities, and then there were those who tracked his movements, whispering sweet nothings and twittering kindly at him to come closer. Ah yes, he loved people like that, people who knew the joy of having a feline decide that their miserable existence was worth even a moment of their time. And today was no different.
Being that it was Sunday, on of his rare allotted days off from his workplace on the inner city strip, Takeo was indulging in the finer elements of being a cat. His body stretched along the length of a stone wall separating Takagi High School from the adjacent roadway. It was the perfect spot to sunbathe, catch up on some much needed beauty rest and watch in quiet amusement as the world went about its business. Yes, it was indeed great to be a cat. He could maintain his silent vigil while doing what he did best, looking adorable.
An itch in his right shoulder caused the muscles to jump, he ignored it for a time but when the sporadic twitch came to be too distracting Takeo craned his neck around and licked down the jet black fur with a chuff of annoyance. Hm, there were some apparent disadvantages to being a cat, an evolutionary lack of thumbs being the most prevalent issue he’d come across. There were just some itches that required a human’s dexterous flanges to properly scratch and while he could just shift his form and relieve himself of the skin irritation, it was too much work for one little discomfort.
Dissatisfied, the Obake grumpily straightened himself out, stretching the extraordinary length of his body before leaping from his perch and proceeding to walk about the schoolyard. There were always humans about, he deduced. How hard could it be to find one willing to give him a few pats and maybe take care of his little problem? Who knew, maybe he’d even get a treat if he played the role of the poor, friendly, homeless cat desiring human contact.
The scenario his mind presented was hilarious and left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Well that’s more of Tsukiko’s thoughts; whatever gets her out of her home and keeps her entertained at the same time was better than nothing. Tsukiko and her squad had just finished going over some routines and wanted to get out quickly to enjoy their Sunday, beyond that Tsukiko had a free day and that thought made the poor young teen sigh in defeat as she stuffed her hands into the pockets of her capris.
The thought of cracking down on homework made her shudder but she need to keep her grades up to keep doing what she wanted to do. Tsukiko really needed someone to go an complain to but with how much she talked Tsukiko was uncertain as to who would listen to her. She could go to the woman at the Shop of Myth; she always had something to say. Or maybe Tsukiko could just procrastinate and listen to what she has to say about them. With them being of legends and myths, obake and guardians, mysterious entities that were here in past times and had just disappeared. Tsukiko ruffled up her short brown hair staring up at the warm rays of the sun; where did they just go? She tilted her head in that thought until she looked down to see a black cat walk up.
One would have probably been scared to reach out and pet it possibly walked another way to make sure it didn’t cross paths with them, but Tsukiko adored cats. Tsukiko bent down and brought her hand out, showing she wanted some interactions. ”Come over here, kitty.” She cooed with a smile on her face, she inched closer to him and gently circled her fingers on his back. ”You’re so lucky, you don’t have to worry about anything.” Tsukiko mumbled unaware of what this cat really was. ”You get to do whatever you want, whenever you want, be mischievous and mysterious and you wouldn’t get in trouble for it.” Once more the young teen sighed.
”Maybe you’re of legend.” Her brows shot up as she chuckled. ”Ah, what am I thinking? You can’t be, your just a cat.” She then sat down crossing her legs and resting her heavy bag next to her. Tsukiko’s stomach than growled, she frowned slightly and reached into her bag to bring out a melon bread. ”Guess it’s just you and me.” Tsukiko pressed her lips together in thought. ”Mew, Mew… Meulin? Yeah, let’s go with that.” She patted the top of the cats head. Tsukiko loved giving the cats around town nicknames, to her it made it easier to figure out who was who instead of having to guess all the time. in. | [atrb=style, height: 80px; overflow: auto; border-style: dotted; border-width: 1px; border-color: #f1ca97; font-family: verdana; color: #837d77; text-align: justify; padding: 5px;]TAG,Takeo LYRIC,only prettier, miranda lambart NOTES,I'mma jump in here~ CREDIT,made by LUCI of OTE. steal & die.

If he could grin the tom would have given the Cheshire cat a run for its money as he was hailed by a young human. The girl was beckoning him over with an outstretched hand, scooting closer and performing what he’d come to understand as the universal animal summoning gesture. He’d have laughed if he wasn’t certain the juvenile would run screaming and instead opted for a soft meow, meant to sound apprehensive as the notes were drawn out.
As old as he was, with all the vast knowledge he possessed, Takeo still did not appreciate being called out to as ‘kitty’. It was such an insulting way to be addressed, honestly, his intelligence far outshined hers! It wasn’t without conscious effort on his part that he looked and acted the part of the amiable stray as she became close enough to touch, immediately scrubbing her fingers over his back. The effect was instantaneous. Those dexterous little fingers scraped against his coat just right, like there was some invisible button that said ‘Push here for Bliss’ and she was continuously pressing it with every stroke. This must be what humans were made for.
The disguised Obake leaned ecstatically into the digits scrolling over him, arching his spine whenever they combed over the apex of his back. If he’d been any less prideful he might’ve been ashamed to be so thoroughly immobilized by the temporary paralysis of having his pleasure centers manipulated like guitar strings but who was around to care? He certainly didn’t at any rate, purring throatily and tuning out her nonsensical chatter in favor of enjoying the attention.
“Maybe you’re of Legend.”
Oh. Well, she had his attention now.
Takeo tilted his head up and gave the teenager lidded, scrutinizing red eyes. How much could she know? Was she a hunter? Was it possible that insufferable Myth teller had been out babbling to the locals?
While it couldn’t be said that he was worried, it would be prudent to see just what ideas this little girl had concerning the paranormal entities that she unwittingly lived among. But alas, the sentence that followed was greatly disappointing, denouncing her claim as hearsay like so many others before her had done. It was rather anticlimactic to say the very least, made worse because she had stopped petting him. Oh well, his itch had been taken care off anyhow but he’d linger for a while more and see what would come of this one-sided conversation.
She took a seat, retrieving a packaged snack and resumed speaking to him. Meulin? What devilry was she talking about now? The black cat lashed his tail as if trying to convey his annoyance at the silly nickname she was trying to saddle him with. He’d admit it was a rather…interesting name but definitely not one worthy of a being of his caliber and esteem. Sigh; even after a century of living with them he would never understand humans.
“Mrow.” Giving a particularly loud call as he drew himself over her knee, neck seemingly straining to sniff the package of that enclosed the bottom portion of her snack. It should be clear what he wanted from her and if not Takeo went the extra mile to paw at her wrist to try and lower it to a reachable distance from the ground. He’d let her do as she pleased so long as he could eat while she did so.
